Elevate Toronto Artists – Artist Collab.

Elevate Toronto Artists (ETA) is an artist collective that brought together over 40 Canadian artists to create a collaborative and one-of-a-kind tarot deck, titled ETA Tarot. Each of the 80 cards represents an original, physical painting created using traditional media on canvas and wood, with a production timeline spanning six months.

I was invited to contribute as an artist and created two cards for the deck: the 2 of Cups and the 8 of Pentacles. While I don’t typically work in tarot themes, I’ve always found the subject fascinating, especially as a platform for artistic interpretation and personal expression. It was a meaningful challenge to explore the symbolic language of the cards and express it in my style.

Although I don’t often paint traditionally, this was a rewarding experience to work with physical materials and be part of a large-scale collaboration alongside other talented artists. The project was successfully backed 102% on Kickstarter, and the final printed sets, along with an accompanying guidebook, will be released in 2025.

All original artworks will be exhibited in a week-long gallery show in Toronto, October 2024, celebrating the community and creative vision behind the deck.
