Consistency at scale, before it ever reaches the shelf.
Luxe Decor Life needed packaging for hundreds of mirror SKUs that could survive overseas production and still land consistent on shelves across Canada and the US, without ballooning cost or turnaround time.
As Design Lead, I owned the process end to end: concept, dielines, specs, and print execution, working directly with overseas factories to keep quality and brand consistency intact from file to shelf.
[01] The Challenge
Every package had to work within a fixed budget, appeal to a wide range of home styles, and win attention without a salesperson pitching it. On a shelf full of competing mirror brands, shoppers are grabbing product based on the box alone, so the packaging had to show enough of the actual mirror to sell it in seconds, while still protecting a fragile, oversized glass product through overseas shipping and handling. On top of that, it needed to track current design trends closely enough to feel current, without leaning so far into any one trend that it stopped feeling classic and approachable for the average home.
[02] The Response
I kept the palette neutral and controlled, expanding colour range without ever going fluorescent or too bold, so packaging reads as approachable across home styles and price points. A gloss surface print keeps the box dust-resistant and holds its shine through transit. To balance visibility with protection, I developed cutout systems specific to each line, openings that show enough mirror to sell it while keeping the glass secure. Trend-chasing stays contained to colour, font, and layout, the system's structure stays classic. Photography evolved the same way: early packaging used composited, hand-edited shots, current work uses AI-generated interior mockups that place each mirror in a realistic room setting.
